I am so worried for my father and step mom.  They've been without power for 9 days now and it doesn't look like power will be restored for at least another 2 weeks.  Our little town of 4000 has been working so hard to recover from the largest natural disaster that Long Island has ever seen and they are struggling.  It's almost as if they've been forgotten.  Days keep passing and residents are without electricity.  The water isn't safe to drink, cell service comes and goes, you can't get gas for your car.  You can try, but you'll wait hours only to find out that the station has run out of fuel.  People are desperately trying to stay warm but they're putting themselves and their families in danger.  My sister lost a friend to carbon monoxide poisoning.  She brought a kerosene heater into her home and didn't ventilate properly.  It is just heartbreaking.
You have been amazing to me and my family.  I really feel like the City of Nashville has adopted me.  Now, I need you to adopt my hometown.  Please, if you find it within your soul to help my kind hearted, hard working neighbors, I would be forever grateful.
Anthony Bitetto is a future Nashville Pred.  Click HERE to find out more about him.  He is playing for Milwaukee which I understand is a "feeder" team, yes?  You know me and sports.  Well, Anthony was born and raised in Island Park too (where his family remains) and has set up a relief fund.  The money donated will go directly to the town of Island Park. Anything is greatly appreciated.

This is my town of Island Park, NY 11558...well, what's left of it.
This was my Elementary School "Francis X. Hegarty"
This was a couple of blocks over from the house that built me.

The luncheonette we would walk to at lunch time during my middle school years.

Two years ago, you were there.  The GREAT FLOOD of 2010 knocked us down, but we got back up with the help of friends, family and the random kindness of strangers. Please consider giving back by donating to my home town of Island Park. My family and friends need YOU DONATE HERE and thank you SO much!  xoxoxoxo Amy
